A traditional 7 bedroom chalet with excellent reception and dining rooms, opening onto terraces with spectacular views, in a dominant and sunny plot. Available for sale to non-residents.
This chalet is a picturesque period Swiss chalet built in 1961. Set within its own generous parcel of land and away from the road, it offers an unmatched panoramic view across the valley. With approximately 400 m2 of space, the chalet is built on four floors and features mature wood panelling throughout.
The Chalet was originally built as two apartments, but they are currently used as a single home. Reverting to the two apartments would be easy to do, as the layout has remained unchanged.
There is a second freestanding chalet cottage with two floors by the entrance to the property. The upper floor, level with the road, provides a garage with space for two cars. Below it, there is a large open room with French windows. This can be used as playroom, gym area or could easily be converted into a guest cottage with double bedroom and bathroom.
The slopes are a few minutes walk from the chalet, so there is no need to drive to the slopes in the winter. In the summer, three world famous golf courses are a short drive away.
The Chalet comprises two separate apartments, making it accessible to both residents and non-residents as a primary or second home.
The Chalet currently comprises in total 393 sqm approximately. Subject to the usual consents, there is a possibility to replace the existing and rebuild a new Chalet comprising approximately 539 sqm plus a 54 sqm garage for three cars, a 37% increase in the size of the Chalet.
The entrance is located on the first floor and leads to a hallway that opens into the principal reception room. This has generous proportions that make it comfortable yet spacious. South-facing panoramic windows provide uninterrupted views of the landscape. A door provides access to an upper terrace. A grass lawn is surrounded by pine trees and lined with mélèzes on one side.
Additional rooms on the first floor include a study, TV room, bar area and guest bathroom. The master bedroom is also located on this floor. This has an en-suite bathroom, extensive cupboard space, and a sauna.
Above the reception room, on the second floor, are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite; with an adjoining low ceiling storage area.
A staircase leads from the reception room to the ground and lower-ground floors. The ground floor has a large dining room, again with pleasant southerly aspect. French windows open onto the garden which is surrounded by pine trees to create a private outdoor space. Also located on the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen has a separate larder and ironing room, plus a staff double bedroom with its own bathroom. There is a separate ground floor entrance to the chalet next to the kitchen.
On the lower-ground floor there is a large double bedroom with views to the mountains, with an en- suite bathroom and a further guest lavatory. There is also a cellar, a storage room and landing area.
Crans Montana is a mountain paradise that nestles on a plateau above the town of Sierre in the Valais Canton of Switzerland. Its unique position presents magnificent views in every direction. Although Crans is a sophisticated resort that retains a village atmosphere, the surrounding area conveys a sense of unspoilt natural beauty teeming with flora and fauna.
Crans Montana is one of the most famous resorts in Switzerland. At 1,500 metres above sea level, its height and extensive ski areas make it an ideal winter sports destination. Crans is a popular venue that regularly hosts World Cup skiing events, including in 2017 and 2018. In summer, Crans is popular with golfers as it boasts four separate golf courses (one 18-hole and three 9-hole) and there is an indoor Golf centre that is open year-round. Crans hosts the OMEGA European Masters Golf Tournament every September. Additionally, other popular summer sports activities are readily available, including horse riding, water sports, hiking and mountain biking.
The town centre is lined with a variety of shops, including luxury stores such as Hermes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada. Vibrant restaurants, cafés and bars add to an extensive list of things to see or do. Nestling in a quiet and protected corner of Plans Mayens, Chalet Vieux Bisse is situated just 5 minutes from the centre of town by car, or a short walk of less than 2 km, either through the forest or by road, offering its owners an almost perfect balance of privacy, serenity and easy access to local amenities.
