This is a unique opportunity to purchase a self sufficient and substantial property steeped in family history. With a main villa, beach house, staff house, chapel, stone tower, private pier, church and vast lush gardens, this site is extremely rare and offers the new owner, privacy and peace in abundance. The site lies 1,200 metres off the coast near the ancient city of Eretria.
Full Description:
Trinity Island is located in the southern Gulf of Euboea (Evia). Car ferries run every 30 minutes from Oropos to Eretria on the shores of Mainland Greece, meaning that it only takes about an hour to drive to Athens; or a mere 10 minutes by helicopter. Trinity is a truly exclusive and unique private island of 12 acres in size, with its own water supply pumped from a well.
The main buildings which consist the Main House, Staff House and Beach House were built in 1960 and are designed for summer living. The lawns and entire island have been designed for entertaining guests and extended family. The property has been with the same family for four generations and has been primarily used for summer holidays and entertaining distinguished guests such as the The Beatles and Sir Winston Churchill.
There are also a Church and Chapel on the island, a boat house and a 17th century Venetian Watchtower. One of the main highlights is the Beach House, which has been built right on the beach, which provides accommodation, showers, bar, kitchen and dining area. There are three sandy beaches on the island. The land consists of 350 mature olive trees, 125 pistachio trees, and a huge variety of fruit trees. There are also numerous pine and cypress trees around the perimeter of the island, as well as hundreds of ornamental bushes such as oleander, bougainvillea, hibiscus and geraniums etc.
There is a central road that runs the length of the island which links all the buildings and areas. Power comes from two diesel generators and solar for hot water.
Although there are more than 1,500 islands surrounding Greece, Trinity is extremely rare, and not just because of the stunning landscape and location. There are lots of islands but very few are on the market at any one time, and Trinity has all the correct paperwork in place, thus offering the added peace of mind of an expeditious and unproblematic sale.
