New Zealand

Green and unspoilt New Zealand has recently become famous as the real star of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The country is made up of two islands, the North and the South, and has a tiny population considering its geographical size. New Zealand was previously a British colony, and the influence of the English is still very much evident in everything from their allegiance to the Queen, to the tradition of afternoon tea. Some say it is like being in England in the 1950's.

Outdoors types will find much to occupy themselves. It is a great place to hike, ski or try adrenaline sports like bungee jumping or parasailing. Many enjoy travelling through the countryside visiting the plethora of beauty spots throughout the country.
